Launch Something to Produce 2011 Spartanburg Visitors Guide
The Spartanburg Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) announced Launch Something has been awarded a contract to produce the 2011 Spartanburg Visitors Guide. Launch Something was selected from five finalists who responded to requests for bids through Spartanburg County to produce the annual tourism publication. The guide highlights Spartanburg county’s hotels, attractions, restaurants, and other traveler services. This will be the third annual comprehensive guide to Spartanburg’s travel and tourism offerings.
Work began on the 2011 guide more than six weeks ago, when the CVB hired local photographer Les Duggins to shoot images from around the county for the new publication and the www.visitspartanburg.com website.
Launch Something will be responsible for design, layout, printing, and advertising sales of the 2011 Spartanburg Visitors Guide. Amy Phillips will supervise the project for the CVB. The guides will be distributed at state welcome centers, AAA travel agencies, local hotels, attractions, and tourism businesses, and will be available online as a downloadable PDF and e-book, as well as through mail and phone requests for Spartanburg County information.
The 2011 guide will be one of the first marketing products to incorporate the new Revolutionary brand developed as part of the county’s tourism action plan. The guide will feature the five key attributes of Culture, History, Agriculture, Recreation, and Manufacturing that were identified in the action plan. Community stakeholders will be invited to review the guide prior to printing later this fall.
“We are looking forward to working with Launch Something on this project. We wanted a turnkey solution for production of the guide, as well as a team with a history of creative solutions that could effectively communicate Spartanburg’s tourism offerings through their design expertise,” said Amy Phillips of the CVB.
“We are pleased to be working with the CVB to produce the 2011 Spartanburg Visitors Guide. The opportunity to produce the guide and incorporate the new Revolutionary branding to promote Spartanburg’s tourism industry promises to be an exciting project,” said Jaime Nash of Launch Something.
Advertising will be available in this year’s guide, including a map sponsorship that is a first-come, first-serve opportunity. For advertising opportunities in the 2011 Spartanburg Visitors Guide, contact Jaime Wells Nash at 864-580-2350.
The 2011 Guide will be released in January.
